Unexpected Weight-Loss Encouragement

So one thing that I’ve been a little worried about in my weight loss journey is losing weight and having my body look saggy, especially my face. Another friend told me she was concerned about the same thing.

Well last night I think God sent a special angel to me in the form of a friend at church.

I was at a Candy Carnival at our church parking lot when I saw Pam. I go to a really friendly church (our sign even says we’re the friendliest church in town). But Pam is the friendliest person in the friendliest church.

After giving me her usual bear hug I mentioned that she must be hot because she was wearing long sleeves and pants and it was like 85 degrees yesterday. (Here in Florida it’s still 85 at the end of October. I think it’s always going to be a high of 85. Forever.)

Anyway, she told me that after losing 300 pounds, yes 300 pounds, that she had to hide some of her excess skin. Wowza! I had no idea. She looks amazing! Especially her face. And she was over 50 when she had her weight loss surgery.

She whipped out three pictures from her purse and showed me a woman who was barely recognizable as her former self. It was incredible.

I asked her if she had any work done on her face and she told me no. She showed me some exercises that she did to help her neck. And she told me that she took collagen.

I guess this was such an encouragement to me because that was something that I was worried about and I really believe God sent her to me to encourage me.

Soon I plan on interviewing her. There are so many things I’d like to ask. But for the time being, I’m so grateful to hear her story and see her beautiful face.

Oh, and by the way, I didn’t eat a single piece of candy there! That’s a major accomplishment in my life. Between that and her encouragement, there may be hope for me after all.
